Nothing more needs to be said, except, as my friend Dave points out, the fencing term is "En Garde." Oops. And so, at some point I will revise this cartoon. But not right now...

OK. A cartoon using a cult British 1960's TV show as reference might not have wide appeal, but this stuff just comes into my head and out on the paper. I promise not to do it again, unless I can figure out a punchline with John Steed or Emma Peel...

Turns out — that cat is more of a character than I thought it would be. That often happens as cartoons develop. With that, I've noticed is that I'm drawing him a little different than when I started. Here are some sketches of the 'new' cat.

Well, at least that mouse didn't paint Mohammed — then I would be in trouble.

And the cheese found a nice quote about gambling:
"Part of the $10 million I spent on gambling, part on booze and part on women. The rest I spent foolishly."
— George Raft

The cheese came up another labor quote:
"It is essential that there should be organization of labor. This is an era of organization. Capital organizes and therefore labor must organize. "
— Theodore Roosevelt

The cheese came up with another quote from history:
"It is only through labor and painful effort, by grim energy and resolute courage, that we move on
to better things."
— Theodore Roosevelt

Every once in a while, the cheese has a thought. It is an old cheese, well aged and perhaps well read. It has no way to speak, but since no one else in this strip has use for a thought balloon — thinking not being a high priority for these characters — we've decided to give it to the cheese. And so it now has a thought to share.
So much for reform within a dictatorship. Sometimes I think this cat would make a good Wall Street banker.
